Embrace nature, tranquillity, food, wine and wellness during your time at Brookdale. In the heart of Paarl, our location offers easy access to some of Cape Town’s most exceptional nature trails, restaurants, wineries and wellness experiences. There is a wealth to do in the winelands.
However, be sure to set aside some time to unwind and enjoy the peace of the Estate itself. Too often we plan, and we plan, and we plan, and we forget to simply enjoy the space and place in time in which we find ourselves. At Brookdale, each stay is highly personalised and we ask our guests to let us know their preferences prior to their arrival. In this way, we can guide our guests with suggested ways to relax, to get active, and to savour, depending on what they’d like to do and where their passions lie…
RELAX AT BROOKDALE
From the moment you enter through the gates of Brookdale Estate, you are met with a winding path through vineyards and gardens – exhale – this is your refuge from life’s daily bustle. Sleep in, enjoy languid walks through the vines, spend time in the library or beside the pool with a great read, or simply gaze out over the view as morning turns to afternoon turns to dusk.
Pampering wellness treatments are offered in the comfort and privacy of your suite (speak to us for the latest treatment menu during your stay). Be guided by the gentle rhythms of nature at Brookdale to restore balance within the body, mind and soul.
GET ACTIVE AT BROOKDALE
With 67 hectares of vineyards, fynbos, brooks and gardens to explore, step outside with a gentle stroll, a more vigorous hike or run, a cycle or horseback experience at Brookdale Estate. You are welcome to set off on adventure by yourself (within our secured landscape), or opt for a guide to join you on your exploration of the Estate. Brookdale has recently been restored to a natural haven for birds and wildlife with all alien plants replaced by indigenous fynbos and vegetation making for a spectacular landscape, so bring along your trainers or bicycle for a day outdoors.
Another popular mode of transport on the estate for family and friends is our tractor. Enjoy a fun tractor ride together to see Brookdale from a different angle, to find a picnic spot or survey new viewpoints for a sundowner (it’s perfect for kids, and those that enjoy good, old-fashioned farm-style fun!).
Plus, for those looking to not only get in their step count, but also increase their heart rate, our fitness room has everything you need for a workout to keep in shape (especially if you’ve over indulged on our private’s chef’s impeccable desserts…)
Now that you’ve explored the vineyards, you’re probably wondering what they yield in the talented hands of our winemaker, Kiara Scott. Guests are invited to join us for a private, hosted wine tasting at Brookdale Manor House to taste the Mason Road and Brookdale wines for themselves. Throughout the year, depending on the season and where in the winemaking process we are, we welcome our guests to join us in the vineyards and cellar for a more active wine experience (speak to us when making a booking).
And, what would wine be without food. Executive Chef of Brookdale Estate, Gary Coetzee, creates meals as deep in flavour as they are varied in style. Each day begins with a soul-nourishing breakfast, and from there you can choose your culinary journey. The Manor House includes the services of a private chef for tailored lunches, inspired picnics and dinners to cherish. Just as in our cellar, expect the unexpected in our kitchen. You can also dive deeper into your culinary curiosity and enquire about a cooking class with the chef.
Speak to us when making a booking about these and other experiences that might be right for you. We take a personalised approach to each and every stay, with new ideas and activities constantly taking form at Brookdale Estate.
